Master Chen Zhonghua was in Ottawa for his second workshop of the year (2009).  There were eleven participants and most of them were returning students.  The workshop was hosted by James Chen with assistance by Rachelle Bergeron.  The workshop was held in a downtown location at the University of Ottawa.  

The most important part of this workshop was that Master Chen reviewed the Yilu taolu (form) for each individual and gave personal and detailed corrections.  The other main aspect was that we received both details and reinforcements of what we have learned in the past with respect to both the theoretical as well as the physical aspects of structure, stable axis of rotation, and manipulation of relative orientation and positioning of limbs and body structures to receive incoming energy and redirect it back to the issuer.  Several important aspects of timing, angle, and splitting energy were delineated for push-hands.

As is the case after every workshop, all participants felt that they learned a lot and made significant improvements.  We are all really grateful that Master Chen is willing to come and teach us in Ottawa on a regular basis. We are lucky indeed because the depth and the quality of instruction from Master Chen, combined together with his practical skills, has no equal.
